Lovely Lampshades

I've been wanting to make some changes to my bedrooms decor and update the style of some of the accent pieces that currently decorate it. Today I decided it was a good day to start with the lampshades. Lighting is such a quintessential part of decor and I simply adore it. From chandeliers to table lamps, lighting has got to be one of my favorite decorating elements in any design.

I am planning on re-decorating my bedroom with a old Hollywood glamour swanky, and sexy feel to it. I love the mood this look creates and thought what a perfect feel for a bedroom!

I pulled these beautiful black feathers from an old feather boa, and used matching shoe clips for the centerpiece of each. Fine ribbon is always a must around my home. I love the different textures and colors you can use to help create your look. I used just a dab of hot glue to secure the ribbon in place tightly around the lampshade. You can use thick ribbon or even gimp to create a different look. Old buttons, buckles, or Rhinestone pins are great to use as a centerpiece on a ribbon wrapped shade. Ta Da! The finished shade, Doesn't it look so glamorous and beautiful mixed in with my Mannequins, and old rhinestone crowns,trophies, pearls & things! Another gorgeous example! This shade I used the same fabric to create the ribbon with and accented it with an old rhinestone jeweled brooch. Another gorgeous lampshade in the bell shape, accented by a thick black velvet ribbon and an old silver buckle. Very Hollywood Glam & Very Audrey Hepburn like!

MY SUMMER GARDEN...STOP BY & SMELL THE ROSES

Don't you just love the lazy days of summer?! Today while out doing my daily watering in my garden I thought it would be fun to share with you some of the beautiful flowers that are currently blooming in my yard. I love fresh flowers, roses especially!

Using touches of things I love like Vintage Crowns and Urn indoors & out is so much fun, and really personalizes my home.

One of the sweetest gifts I have ever recieved was a rose bush planted in my yard. It reminds me with each bloom of the thoughtfulness of that gift!

I bought this gorgeous French Antique Wall Basin and thought it would look just gorgeous as a wall planter. It is perfect and hangs right next to my front entryway.

Adding vintage statues to my garden is one of my favorite things. I love the way they age with grace in the outdoors and the beauty they add to the space!
